"Tips & Hints".......Using fake nails
I usually let my nails grow enough to extend past the finger tip, so they do look OK when polished. But every once in a whle, I want to put on the "glue-on" type of nail, so I can have nice long nails:-)
Many stores carry a wide variety of nails in various lengths and tip shapes, and also in prepainted colors. I like to polish them myself, so I can have the exact colors I want. To helps speed up the "getting read" process, I pre-polish my nails so all I have to do is glue them on and I'm ready! On a block of wood, I pounded in ten nails, in two five-nail rows, then using a small amount of putty, set the nails on top of the nail heads, so I can polish away and let them dry for future use.
Since I'm a "part-time" girl, I want the nails to be easily removed, so what I do is just before it is time to get ready, I apply a clear base-coat of polish on my nails and let it dry. Then when it is time to put on my nails, I apply the glue on the clear base-coat, which makes the nails a lot easier to remove afterward. I found it took forever for the glue to wear off my nails if I put them right onto my own nails, and by using this method, I don't have to do any explaining.
When I polish my own nails, I apply a clear base coat on my nails, extending it just onto the skin at each side of the nail,, then when the base coat is dry, I apply the color on top. By doing this, the color is a whole lot easier to remove afterward.
