An afternoon out with ...."Alyssa" :-)
While working at Lady Godiva Boutique, on Saturday, June 1, 2002, I met some wonderful people who visited the store. Among them, one of Mary's special customers, stopped by to take advantage of the great deals, and when leaving, stopped to say hello. That's when I first met Alyssa:-) She was very excited when she told me she had met Shandi, and intended to "Join The Club"! We had a brief chat, which made the day very special, and since, got to know each other through e-mails, and late night chats on MSN "zzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
We met again for coffee on June 16, 2002, which is when "him" met "him" too<LOL>, and later, made plans for a "Girl's Day Out" on Wednesday, June 26, 2002! I know all to well that day took way too long to arrive for Alyssa:-)
We met in the morning around 10ish, had time for coffee, then wondered what the heck we were doing siting around, we had "Girl-stuff" to do! It was a lot of fun getting ready, sharing makeup tips. Alyssa wore a beautiful black dress with slits way up the arms, and looked so HOT standing there in her 5 inch sandals! I wore a wine T-shirt, black mini skirt with a front side slit, and sensible shoes<LOL>
Although she didn't show it, Alyssa said she got a little nervous right when we were about to hit daylight, but I think it faded fast! Since this was her first time out in a while, we planed on just going for a drive, and our first stop was to see Mary, and introduce her to Alyssa.
After visiting Mary for a while, we went for a drive to Assiniboine Park, and just enjoyed being girls enjoying the scenery:-) But the scenery wasn't complete, until Alyssa was a part of it *S* We stopped near the Formal Gardens, where we got out for pictures! Alyssa was so thrilled with all the people drive past, and roller blading past, and as you can see in the pics, she was a very happy girl!
After leaving the park, we headed back as Alyssa had to be home early<pout>. On the way, we stopped at the Shell gas bar in Tuxedo Park Shopping Centre, where Alyssa waited in the van while I went in to buy my lottery ticket. When I came out with the ticket, Alyssa had a big smile on her face and was clapping*S* I know it is one thing to try and explain to someone that the rest of the world can accept us, but I do believe it is a tremendous confidence booster to show someone the real world is a fun place to be as ourselves*S*
Thanks for reading my story,
