Shopping for New Clothes...

After I began to really accept my feminine side as a very real and special part of me in the fall of 2000, buying clothes has been a whole new experience!

Understanding more about why I have always had this desire to dress in pretty, and sometimes sexy, female clothing, has helped a lot. I find that now when I go into a store, all the nervousness I used to feel is no longer there. I have quit using the "for my girlfriend" routine and have just focused on shopping for what it is I realy want, not just take what happens to be on the rack at the time.

I have found comfort in using words like "I'm looking for a skirt in a size 11" or "I'm looking for a particular style of blue turtleneck sweater" etc., and find the clerks respond with things like "do you want a long skirt or a mini skirt" or "is this the style of sweater you are looking for?" So the focus is really on me, the person the skirt is for in the first place, but to the clerk, their focus is on the customer, the one who is buying the skirt!! By being honest and avoiding the deceptions I had in the past, I am a lot more comfortable now and enjoy spending time with the clerks who are very helpful. I can freely say I like or don't like something without feeling like I'm trying to make excuses for someone who doesn't exsist.

I have not yet done any shopping while en fem, although I'm dying to try it :-)
