Finaly! - "Shopping at Mike's Mart" January 5, 2003

During my first trip to Thunder Bay this year, I put to bed a "demon" so to speak. I had spent many many trips to Thunder Bay dressed over the years, but this was my first trip there since I started getting out into the real world!! And I wanted to concour some things that I just couldn't before. Like after getting to Thunder Bay en fem one evening several years ago, I wanted to so badly to be able to simply walk into a Mike's Mart (Like a Seven Eleven). I liked the way I looked, wearing a mini skirt, heels and blouse with a blue trench coat. I sat in the parking lot across the street and cried for about an hour! Why couldn't I do it? I kept thinking to myself!

In planning this trip, I made a promise to myself, that I was going to go into that store wearing a mini skirt once and for all!! I got to Thunder Bay about 2pm, Sunday, January 5, and had to wait until about 3pm, since my room wasn't ready. When it was, I settled in and "got pretty"! Later, Theadora, a girl I met through Shandi lives in Thunder Bay, was coming to my hotel for a visit, and we had arranged to meet at around 7pm. I was pretty by 5pm, wearing my wine T-shirt, black hose, pumps and my mini with the front side slit! OK! I was set!! I left the motel and headed out to Mike's Mart!!

So different this time. I parked, and a few seconds later I was walking to the rear of the store where the drink coolers were to pick up soft drinks with my heels clicking loadly on the tile floor. You can bet I had a smile on my face*S* Then I got to the counter and found that "Donna" the clerk was in the back. So there I was, standing in a store I couldn't walk into a few years earlier, standing there in a mini and heels with customers walking all around and not one bad feeling about it!! Donna came and took my money, was very pleasant, then I left feeling like I was on top of the world!! I know it may sound silly, but that was one store I just HAD to visit!

So there you have it, dream all you want, because dreams do come true!
