Buying My First Wigs....

I was still in high school and had been crossdressing and wearing makeup for a while before I decided it was time to buy a wig. My hair was fairly long for a guy, but I really wanted something more feminine like long curly hair!

I knew I could get away with buying clothes and makeup, but buying a wig!! That would really give me away was my fear. Still, I really wanted to look more feminine and believed the wig was the answer. Just where and how I had to figure out. Walking into a store and buying one was definately too scary for me.

I found a selection of wigs advertized in magazines that had names of movie and television stars, like Marilyn Munroe, Farrah, and yes "Sabrina" from Charlies Angels!! (Now you know where I got my name!! I really liked Kate Jackson as Sabrina Duncan.). The wigs were not expensive, back then about 30 or 40 dollars US. I'd cut out the ads and dream of having hair as pretty as was in the pictures!

It was still quite a while before I got up the courage to so something about my hair. So many questions went through my mind. How, where do I have it sent, what would I tell someone if they asked??? Way back then, I didn't know about renting a post office box. The mail just gets delivered! When I finaly did it, I purchased a money order, filled out the form and mailed it off. I used my grandparent's mailing address, figuring if I had to answer questions, they'd be the best bet to believe some story about a parcel from the US.

After waiting for what seemed like eternity, and long enough that I almost forgot what I had done, I got a call from my grandfather saying I had a letter to pick up! I was almost speachless. I wanted to run right over and get it, and at the same time I wanted it to go away!! I did get to their house and when my grandfather handed me the card from the post office saying I had a parcel to pic up, written right on it in big letters was "2 wigs", he asked why I was ordering wigs. I wanted to die right there!! I gave him a story about for a school play. That was the end of the questions, so I hoped he believed me. Later that day I got to the post office and handed the clerk the card. When he brought me the parcel, which I had to sign for, I noticed the package had obviously been opened and re-taped closed. Believe me, I was very nervous and thought everone was going to know about my "secret"!

Once I got out of the building, I felt a lot better, and returned home when no one was home. I had ordered the "Sabrina" wig and the "Farrah" wigs, and to my disappointment, the substituted the Sabrina wig for another style :-( Although I was very disappointed, no way was I going through complaining about it. Getting these two was frustrating enough!

Now that I had what I always wanted, longer and more feminine hair, I found another fear was haunting me. I always figured I could talk my way out of it if anyone ever found my clothes, but finding them with a wig made my secret more obvious! I managed to keep my things hidden and really began to start enjoying my dressing, complete with long hair! Since then, I have always felt a special transformation when I'm dressed complete with makeup and my long hair.

Thanks for reading my story,

Sabrina
