Feeling so "Accepted", I never knew I was being "Read!"...

While working at Lady Godiva Boutique helping Mary with her clearance sale, I learned about being read, way back in January!!!! On June 5, 2003, Mary was speaking to a customer of hers who is also a crossdresser living in Kenora, Ontario. He was telling Mary that his wife, who is not accepting of his dressing, had seen a very tall red-head that she thought might be "A Crossdresser" in McDonalds at the begining of the year. After she described the CD to him, he thought it might be me, as he had seen my pictures on the net!! Now after talking with Mary, he was sure it was me.

Well, guess what? It was me!!! After shopping in Fort Francs on January 23, 2003, wearing my my purple sweater, black hose, my pleather mini skirt and high heeled boots, I did stop at the very McDonalds he talked about and went inside to order my meal for take-out!!! It was such a pleasant experience, and at the time, no one that I could tell, gave me any indication that I had been read. It was simply a feeling of "being accepted". Nothing out of the ordinary at all.

So, Mary tells me I was "Read" when out and about in Kenora over four months ago, and instead of being concerned, I'm actualy excited about it! Thrilled and feeling like such a celebrity that, to people I have never met, I had been recognised as "Sabrina"!

And I am excited for the crossdresser in Kenora with the unaccepting wife!

Why? Perhaps the wife doesn't accept his crossdressing because she doesn't understand it, or thinks that "Nobody else does this!", and may think this is something that should never be talked about or never done in public!! (Mmm, last time I looked, McDonalds was a "Public" place*S*)

By having this wife see me, dressed like any other woman, going about a normal day to day routine activity, like stopping for lunch at McDonalds, she may begin to understand that her husband isn't the only one in the world, and most importantly, that is is perfectly normal for us to go out and live our lives, just like anybody else! Even in a small town like Kenora, Ontario!

To my "Sister" in Kenora..... I hope that this experience has given your wife a more open understanding of what it is we do. If you'd like, write to me at sabrina_markes@masquerade.ca. *HUGS*

Should I be upset that I was read, and didn't "fool" everyone?? Absolutely not. For my view of the world, please read my "Thoughts about passing" .

Thanks for reading my story,

Sabrina
