"Tips & Hints".......Developing a "Feminine Voice "

One thing that had me so worried about being out in public was my "voice"! I know I'm not an expert in this regard, so I really can't tell you much about how to develop a more feminine voice. What I can do, is point you in the direction of some web sites that I found very helpful.

Once I started seriously working on my voice in 2000, I practiced practiced practiced practiced. Yes, I kept talking to myself<LOL> Remember, they say "Practice makes perfect". And to be able to hear yourself as other do, you do need to record your voice then play it back, since you hear your own voice different than others do.

Another trick I was told about, was to practice saying "Hello",or "Hello, my name is Sabrina", since those would be words and phrases I would use when meeting people. And by learning a few phrases like that, it really helps get the feminine voice started when I start speaking to people:-) It seems that once I've been in the role a while, the voice seems to flow a whole lot more naturally too:-)

The first time that I HAD to use my feminine voice was during my "date" with Foot Lover, whom I'd met at TG Chat. Up until that friendly outing, I had never had to ever speak to anyone while out en fem (except a few police officers<LOL>), so that day was a real test. During dinner, he explained to me that with the feminine image being presented when we are dressed pretty, that plays tricks on people's brains. So if the voice isn't completely feminine it really doesn't mater, as long as it is close. He also pointed out that many GG's have deeper, more masculine sounding voices, that if you only heard, and not seen, them, one could mistake them for guys. Yet no one thinks of that, since they "see" a girl! Besides, when we are out, there really aren't that many people who we come into close contact with anyway. Like in a crowded mall on a Saturday afternoon, we many be around hundreds of people, but may only need to speak to a few sales clerks:-)

My really BIG test, was when I worked the sidewalk sale in front of Lady Godiva Boutique, speaking to hundreds of people in the several days I helped out. All without any bad experiences at all!

I hope you have found this information helpful, and most important of all, I truly hope you find comfort in simply being yourself:-)
