"Tips & Hints".......What goes in MY purse!
Everyone I talk to about this subject laughs! Yes, it doesn't matter how big your purse is, or how many times you clean it out, the damn thing is always too full to find anything!
For the longest time, I kept everything in there. Every bit of makeup I had, etc. Yet after really thinking about it, and with the advise of others, I realized I never used half of the stuff when I was out. Once my makeup is on, the only touching up there is during an outing is to add some powder, touch up lipstick and run a brush though our hair once in a while. So why take the whole lot? I know I'm still guilty of taking too much with me, but these are what Iconsider to be "Must Have" when out....
- The shade of lipstick I'm wearing
- Breath mints or gum
- Pressed powder
- Foundation, for emergency touch ups
- Nail glue and extra "pre-polished" nails if I'm wearing false nails
- Nail polish in the color I'm wearing
- Nail file
- Clear nail polish (can also be used to stop a run in hose)
- Hair brush
- Pen and paper
- Cell phone with pre-programmed numbers
- Ribbon or hair clip for tying my hair back when needed.
- My "Girl-Wallet" with cash for the outing and coins for a pay telephone
- Extra set of car and house keys
By only taking with me what I absolutely must have, that leaves me room in my purse to take other things with me, like a small camera for those "Special Pictures"!
Something else I do which helps me relax when I'm out in public, shopping or going to the club, is I never keep my ID in my purse!! I do want some control when I'm out, so what I do is carry a little folder with me, with my ID, bank card, some cash, and an extra key to my vehicle and house. By doing this, I can relax more, knowing that if some jerk decides to run off with my purse, the only thing he will be able to do with it is "Get Pretty", and I'll still be able to get home. It may sound over cautious, but it is something that helps me relax.
