Out & About "Shopping with Rhaina"..

On Wednesday April 14, 2004, I spent the day out shopping with Rhaina. I wore what seems to be my new "Shopping Uniform", the red leather mini skirt and a black long sleeved body suit with beige hose and high heeled boots. Rhaina wore a brown jacket and pant outfit with high heeled boots.

I met Rhaina at Starbucks in Polo Park at 3pm sharp! After a brief chat, we headed out on our adventure. Our first stop was to Tall Girl where Rhain tried on a few dresses. While she was in the change rooms I simply enjoyed walking around being a girl.

She found one she liked and asked the clerk if they would hold it for her, which they did, so off we went in search of "girl stuff"! As we walked through Polo Park Shopping Centre, I kept thinking, that after so many years of only dreaming of going shopping en femme, now it is getting to be such a regular occurrence!

Rhaina was still on the hunt for a summer dress and a new purse, or whatever she found her eyes wandering towards :-) Me, I was simply wanting everything! In and out of the shops we went on both levels, checking out the shoe stores and dress shops, and enjoying the attention my mini skirt got :-) Rhaina tried on a few really cute dresses at Mariposa, but even the extra large was too small.

Passing Suzie Shier I spotted exactly what I've been looking for!! A shinny black coat!! I quickly checked the rack and almost jumped out of my heels when I found the extra large!! As I tried it on the really cute salesgirl came over and pointed out the mirror. As I stood there and got Rhaina's and the salesgirl's opinion, I fell in love with the jacket! One problem though. The salesgirl tells me they have it in a shorter style too!! I tried it on and now just couldn't decide which one to get. To make matters worse, she brings out the same jacket in white, yellow and orange!!! I thought I'd stick with black, since "Black goes with everything"! And since I couldn't decide between the short or long jacket, I bought both!! (Yes, a typical girl). After paying for the two, I put the long one one and had the salesgirl put my old one in the bag. It was getting worn, even through I was attached to it, since it was the jacket I wore on my first outing to the mall!!

I was such a happy kid walking through the mall in my shinny new jacket, leather mini skirt and high heeled boots!! God I can remember chatting with girls about going shopping and the advice to "dress down", "wear sweaters and pants", "wear flats", all so you don't stand out. I can wear jeans, a sweater, and flat shoes any day of the week! When I dress as Sabrina I want to have fun being a girl!

After leaving Polo Park we headed of to get a newspaper to check out show times for "The Lady Killers" and found the movie was playing at 7 PM at the Grant Part theatre. Great, we hat time to check out Dot's on Ellice, a discount clothing store. Finding nothing, we went back to Polo Park so Rhaina could buy the dress she left on hold at Tall Girl. And on the way out, we just had to take some pics :-)

Our next stop was to Lady Godiva Boutique to visit Mary and her cute staff member Charlene:-) And yes, more pics!!

We still had an hour to go before the movie, so we stopped at Tubby's on Stafford Street, where Vanessa and I had been a few weeks before. They have great food and the service is great! We both had fish and chips, a meal you can eat without "messing your face"<LOL>

By the time we got to the theatre it was just before 7, so we were right on time! It was such a thrill, walking into the theatre in a mini skirt and heels. It had always been a dream of mine, and just like shopping, it is getting to be a common thing now. From my first evening out with "Foot Lover", whom I had met in the chat, room till now, so much has become such a normal activity for me! We got our tickets and "overpriced" popcorn and drinks and made our way into the theatre and found a seat almost at the back. I just love sitting in a theatre seat with my legs crossed and wearing a mini skirt! While we watched the previews waiting for the movie to start, two ladies walked in front of us saying "Please excuse us girls" as they made their way to the centre seats! Such a compliment, to be accepted as "girls" weather they read us or not! I just love when that happens. Those two ladies left the theatre after about ten minutes of the show, perhaps too many "F" words for their liking. However, I would recommend the movie to anyone. Lots of laughs!

The movie ended and so was our evening coming to an end. We left the theatre and walked out into the night. After so many years of dressing and being alone, it is so wonderful to have good friends to simply get out of the house and live life as a girl once in a while! Feeling the cool night air on my legs as we walked to my vehicle was no longer pretending. This is a "real life experience"! I drove Rhaina to her car and we said our good-byes, looking forward to the next "shopping day"!
