Hitting the MALLS - "Shopping With Jacilynn" :-)
Sometimes it seems like forever when trying to work out scheduals and such to get time to go out shopping with a sister. Well it finaly happened. It worked out that Jacilynn and I had the same Monday off, November 25, 2002, so we planned a shopping trip, since she needed new winter boots!
The day was kinda mixed up though. I had a guy-stuff appointment for 9:00AM, and had arranged to meet another "sister" at 1:00 PM for coffee. Plus, I had to be home by 5:00 PM! As it turned out, my morning appointment was cancelled, which was too bad, because it realy cut into the "shopping" for the day.
For the outing, I wore my longer leather skirt, the one with the front side zipper, black hose, boots and my wine T-shirt. A perfect outfit for shopping! After my afternoon meeting, which I went to en fem, to Subway for coffee, I met Jacilynn at Mary's at about 2:15 PM. She was wearing a nice skirt and top, with flat shoes and winter coat. AND she was ready to SHOP!!
It was a prefect day too, to be out and about. Very little wind, a little sunshine and it wasn't too cold. Maybe about -5 C! Our first stop was to Polo Park, which is one of Winnipeg's largest malls, and our favorite one to visit as girls*S*. We first checked out the selection at Payless Shoes, where they always carry size 11, which both Jacilynn and I wear. Jacilynn was looking for a high boot with a low heel, however, all they had were ankle boots. So off we went in search ofjust the right boot. it was such a wonderful experience, walking through the mall, checking the selections in all the shoe stores*S*. Jacilynn did find a store that carried what she was looking for, and the salesgirl was so helpful checking their stockroom for everything in size 11. Just a little too pricey though, so off we went and kept searching.
When I go "shopping" as Sabrina, it isn't so much to go buying. It is more for the thrill of just being myself out in the real world, feeling so comfortable too.
After checking the shoe department in Sears and also Zellers, we left the mall and headed to check out Danier Leather Factory Outlet on St. James St. GOD, if I had a million dollars!! I found a wonderful leather mini skirt with fringes that was in the clearance section at the rear of the store. It was only $ 79. I'll add it to my wish list*S*
We then headed over to Tootsie's on St. Mathews Ave., and spent about 15 minutes checking their selection of boots. Finding nothing Jacilynn wanted, we headed across the street to Wal-Mart!! Can you imagine? We spent about a half an hour checking out the boots and the lingerie section:-)
The whole day was what I've heard refered to as a "non-event". Being out among so many people and not having anyone give us the impression that we were read! If we were, it didn't show. The sales staff all treated us very nicely.
Now we can't wait to go back. And speaking of going back!! When we got back to Mary's store, Lady Godiva Boutique, wehre Jacilynn had left her car, we met Mary and told her of our adventures. She said she has been looking for a thin red belt, so she said if we spotted one in our travells, to get her one. Jacilynn and I looked at each other, eagerly agreeing that now we had a mission -"FIND MARY"S BELT" :-)
Thanks for reading my story,
