Sabrina working at the Sex, Love & Romance Expo" - Sunday, October 29, 2006
On Sunday, October 29, 2006, I had the opportunity to go to "Work" wearing a mini skirt, to help Mary of Lady Godiva Boutique at her booth in the Love, Sex & Romance Expo at the Assiniboine Downs!
I had helped Mary during The Everything To Do With Sex Show back in October of 2002 and had a blast! What a confidence builder. Being all dolled up and out and about among hundreds and perhaps thousands of strangers!
Looking forward to spending most of the weekend en fem, I made arrangements to had the Saturday and Sunday of the show off work!
Since my GF is not supportive since I told her just before Halloween in 2001, it still takes me a lot of planning to get my stuff ready for an outing. We haven't talked about it since January 2002, and in many ways I think she's "Forgot!" The way I see it is that if she doesn't want any part of it then so be it! Which does mean sneaking around once in a while. And believe me, that aint easy!
Since she was to be working till 11:00 pm the Wednesday before the show I thought "Great!" I'd have an evening free to do some girl-laundry, pick out which outfits I was going to wear, wash my hair and make sure I had everthing I needed gathered up from their usual hiding places and waiting for me in my van!
Well, after work on Wednesday, I pulled into the driveway on Wednesday and parked BESIDE her car! She was home early from work and you can imagine my instant frustration!
My GF had come home ill earlier in the day and now this left me no free time to take care of my girl stuff unless I stayed up way too late or got up way too early. Which, considering I was working during the day would not make any sense. Yet it's thinks like that that I have do, just to get out once in a while!
I didn't get any free time on either Thursday or Friday evening, since my GF was up late and up early to, and by Saturday morning I was totally too tired. So I decided to take it easy Saturday, get some sleep and rest up. This gave me the day, since my GF did go to work, to get my thing ready for my daughter's Halloween social that I planed to attend!
Perhaps what makes this time of year kinda stressful is that it was the day of my daughter's Halloween social in 2001 that I told my girlfriend all about me! Too much perhaps and that didn't go over too well. Since she knows I go to the socials with my daughter, I often feel that she is wondering just how I am going to these events! So the stress of that time keeps coming back. I did feel bad about not being at the show to help Mary on the Saturday, yet I think I really did need the day of rest.
Sunday morning, my GF left for work about 7:30 AM giving me the morning to get ready AT HOME! I usually get dressed in my van, which I've done for so many years, yet this time I got ready at home! Something I don't do very often, since I always have that feeling that she'll walk in the door. And any little noise has me jumping!
After making sure that "HE" had a change of clothes in my van, since I knew I'd be changing before I got home, just in case my GF was home before me, I began to get ready for my work day!
I chose a blue satin blouse, black leather mini skier, boots with beige hose. The perfect outfit to go to work in, and one I wished I could wear to work! Yes, I was jumpy the few times I heard noises, yet it did feel a lot more "normal" to simply get ready for work, at home!
I was ready just after 10:00 AM, put on my jacket, grabbed my purse, and headed out the door. Feeling thrilled to be wearing my mini skirt and on my way to "work!"
A lot of what has made my life complete these past several years is having places to go, things to do, when dressed in what makes me happy. For so many years I stood in front of mirrors wishing I had places to go and now I'm so thankful that I have them!
The Sex, Love & Romance Expo started at 11:00 and I was EARLY! (Can you tell I was anxious??) I was so early I had to stand at the ticket counter for a few minutes wile they got their change and stuff ready! After paying my $ 7.00 admission, I proudly walked into the expo area, just loving the sound of my heels clicking away on the tile floor!
I had even beat Mary to her booth and met Charlene and the other staff that were there ready for the day! I took some time to walk around the expo floor, checking out all the other exhibitor's displays then returned to the Lady Godiva Boutique booth where I left my jacket and purse behind the curtain!
Mary showed up a little late, and after chatting with her found out she had had a few days as stressful as I had, where nothing seems to go our way. Hopefully we prayed our luck would change and began our day!
Chantal showed up a little while later and as Mary's "Secret Service" we kept a watchful eye over her displays to make sure the items on display, which ranged from lingerie to adult toys, didn't walk away on their own! Being out in public, mingling among so many people and talking with so many people, is such a thrill and truly shows just how accepting society really is of us.
Chantal and I took a break to watch the Lady Godiva Boutique fashion show on the expo stage. All the models did a wonderful job displaying the outfits they were wearing, and those behind the scenes worked their magic, transforming each model from outfit to outfit! Charlene described each outfit and did a great job keeping the audiences attention focused on the show!
Since my GF was working and I was the one with the day off, I had to leave at 3:30 PM to be home in time to get supper started! I didn't want the afternoon to end, yet still felt terrific leaving the building, walking out into the cold air and walking through the parking lot in my mini skirt. Just enjoying being a girl. If even for such a short time! And definitely looking forward to the next time!
