Sometimes
we just never know where life will lead us, and especially when it comes
to crossdressing. For most of my life I've crossdressed, never knowing
why the desire was there, and never wanting to tell another person. Yes,
I had always dreamed of having places to go and things to do as a girl.
Yet they were only dreams. Or so I thought.
In the fall of 2000, I found my way into TG Chat and found that "Hey, I'm not the only guy who does this!" That was a big turning point in my life.
Through 2001, 2002 and 2003, it has been an honour to meet so many wonderful people and it has been so thrilling to meet so many special people with whom I can now spend my girl time with. Time which for so many years, was spent alone.
It was in the chat room where I really began to see that all these dreams I have had were in fact a real possibility, since it was on the various web sites I began reading about all the fun the girls were having throughout Canada and the US, going out to night clubs and yes, even shopping at the mall!
In those few short years, I met many wonderful on-line friends, found my way into the Masquerade web site, and after doing a great deal of thinking, about the "What if's", took that BIG step and joined the group!
Joining Masquerade is for me what really brought "Sabrina" to life. Because it gave her a life of her own. Friends of her own, and places to go that are special for her. Where she can leave the gray haired guy at home and forget about him for a while.
To each of us, how we feel about our crossdressing is as different as we are as individuals, and for each of us it is a special part of our lives. With the key words here being "our lives". Not our friends, not our spouses, parents or children's lives. Ours.
Yes. We should respect how our crossdressing effects or may effect the lives of those around us. Our spouses, family, friends and co-workers. And in return, we have every right to have time for ourselves, when we can have the freedom to express ourselves however we choose. Be it relaxing at home in our favorite lingerie, getting pretty for meetings or a group party, or hitting the malls of Winnipeg for a shopping trip with our girlfriends.
Masquerade is everything I was looking for when I was so desperate to get out of the house and just do something. Anything! Even for a 3 am drive! Had I not seen it with my own eyes on the web sites I visited, that yes, it is possible to get all dolled up and go somewhere, perhaps today, I'd still be hiding from even myself.
To the many girls I met in the TG Chat room, and most importantly to Suzie Petersen who was the first person to really get me started on my journey, there is no way I can ever repay them for the encouragement and support that I received from them.
To the Girls of Masquerade, who are so very special people, I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve as your President, and for the opportunity to give back the support and encouragement that has been shown to me this past few years. When I think back on all the fun I've had out with the girls, I know in my heart none of it would have been possible had there been no one before me to show me the way.
The Girls of Masquerade are truly friends who believe that all things are possible for you if you let them be possible. Be it for socializing at the clubs, dinning out or shopping for that special outfit, dream for all you want. With the support of the Girls of Masquerade, your dreams can come true!
Believe in yourself...Take our hands.. We'll show you the way... Lets go "Shopping"!
