Dining out at "The Fat Angel Bistro" with Diane & Mary...Tuesday, November 16, 2004
In the past few years that I have been getting out en femme into the real world, one of the things that I find so special is simply going about my life doing so many every day activities. Up until 2000, the thought of putting on a favorite skirt, heels and top and just going out and do things like shopping, dining out and so on were only dreams. I thought I'd never be able to do such things! Yet since making friends in the TG Chat room and at Masquerade gave me the opportunity to see that those dreams could be my reality if I wanted them to be. And YES I did!
One of the girls I met in the TG Chat room is Diane from BC. A really cute gal who is a lot of fun to hang out with when she visits Winnipeg. After my shopping trip and finding my new leather skirt on November 13, I had the perfect opportunity to wear it when Diane would be visiting Winnipeg the following week. We made plans to go out to dinner at the Fat Angel Bistro with Mary, Masquerade's "Den Mother", on Tuesday, November 16, 2004.
I wore my new leather skirt, boots and a navy blouse and was ready in time to pick up Diane at her hotel by 8 PM. She wore a cute leopard print top, longer brown skirt and boots and looked fabulous! We got to The Fat Angel Bistro around 8:30 and could only find a parking space a block away. Did I mind having to park so far away?? NO! More "Sidewalk Time". For many years I dreamed of having places to go, not just for that late evening walk around the block, but a real destination. And walking through downtown Winnipeg feeling the cool night air up my skirt is such a wonderful experience! To be out as I want to be, enjoying life as a "Part Time girl"!
We met Mary at the door and entered the restaurant. It wasn't too busy and we were shown to our table near the window. Perhaps the coolest thing is that the waitress knows me as a regular! It makes me feel so wonderful that as "Sabrina", I now have friends and places that are special to me as "Her" , something that took me a long time to realize was possible for me.
Sabrina, Diane & MaryWe enjoyed our evening of conversation and the meals were absolutely delicious! What is so wonderful about going out for dinner as opposed to going out to one of the TG Friendly clubs is that you can actually "Talk" to each other comfortably without having to yell across the table!
After dinner Mary headed for home and Diane and took a little driving tour around the downtown area. Since I needed to stop at Safeway before they closed we just had to stop. (Ok "Wanted" to stop). We went to the Safeway on Marion Street and walked proudly into the store with our heels clicking proudly on the tile floor! Of course the stock boy had to give us a second glance as he "checked us out! I think even the girls at the checkout were jealous of how good we looked :-) So much fun, going out to everyday places!
We ended out fun evening out with a stop to Club 200 for refreshments (Diane was glad it wasn't Karaoke night!) before making our way back to Diane's hotel. Such a perfect evening out with friends!
